10 September 2016 - Johannesburg to Venice
Check in with your tour manager in Johannesburg at Oliver Tambo airport around 16:15 PM. After check in we depart Johannesburg to Venice for the start of our Italian adventure. (Dinner on board flight).
11 September 2016 - Venice
Ciao Bella! Welcome to Italy! We arrive in Venice around 14:00, continue through customs and transfer to our hotel. An afternoon guided tour of Venice will show you the Grande Canal, Rialto Bridge and St Mark Square. After the guided tour you will have some free time to wonder around the water canals of Venice. Why not take a Gondola ride? (Breakfast on board flight)
12 September 2016 - Venice
A free day in Venice. C the World recommends the glass blowing island of Murano, or head to Lido’s beach. (Breakfast)
13 September 2016 - Venice to Rome
We leave the beauty of Venice, and make our way to the ancient city of Rome and "do as the Roman's do". A late afternoon guided tour of Rome shows you the Collosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and much more. (Breakfast, Dinner).
14 September 2016 - Rome
A free day in Rome. C the World recommends the Vatican City? Alternatively visit the inside of the Colosseum or jump on a hop on/hop off bus through Rome! (Breakfast)
15 September 2016 - Rome to Sorrento (Optional Positano)
We continue South as we pass close by Naples, Pompeii and Vesuvius before we reach the stunning town of Sorrento. Spend the afternoon wondering the streets, or jump on a local bus and visit the Amalfi coast town of Positano. (Breakfast, Dinner)
16 September 2016 - Sorrento (Optional Isle of Capri)
A free day in Sorrento. C the World recommends the majestic island of Capri, where you can find the famous Grotto Azzurra (Blue Grotto), or take the chairlift to the summit of Monte Solaro. Alternatively, visit the towns of Positano and Amalfi on the Amalfi Coast, truly a region not to be missed. (Breakfast)
17 September 2016 - Sorrento to Siena
We leave the Italian coastline and enter Tuscany. Tonight we spend the night in Siena, a beautiful medieval town situated in the heart of Tuscany. See the famous Il Campo Piazza and the Duomo of Siena. (Breakfast, Dinner)
18 September 2016 - Siena to San Gimignano to Florence
Certainly a day you will never forget. We start the day at the famous Tuscan hilltop village of San Gimignano, not only famous for the 14 towers, but also its spectacular views across Tuscany. We depart San Gimignano around lunch time and enjoy a wine tasting and cooking class on an estate only a few km outside of San Gimignano. After some lovely wine and a local Italian dish, we make our way to the capital of Tuscany, Florence (Breakfast, Lunch).
19 September 2016 - Florence to Pisa to La spezia
We start the day with a city tour of Florence. See the famous cathedral of Duomo, Bridge of Ponte Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria (Copy of Michelangelo’s St David’s statue).We depart Florence and visit one of the most famous attractions of Europe, the Leaning Tower of Pisa. We end the day at La Spezia, which is the gateway to the Cinque Terre. (Breakfast)
20 September 2016 - La Spezia (Cinque Terre)
Yet another day that will never be forgotten. The Cinque Terre or “The Five Lands,” is made up of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. All five villages are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Each town offers something special, and is easily accessible by trains from La Spezia. (Breakfast).
21 September 2016 - La Spezia to Verona
We depart La Spezia, say goodbye to Tuscany, and make our way further North to the town of Verona, most famous for the Juliet's balcony (Romeo and Juliet), and some spectacular views. Spend the afternoon walking the streets of the city of Love, do some shopping and enjoy this wonderful city. (Breakfast)
22 September 2016 - Verona to Lake Garda to Lake Como to Milan
We enter the Italian lake district, as we stop at Lake Garda, one of the prettiest lakes in Italy. We continue to rub shoulders with the rich and famous as we walk the streets of Como on the shores of Lake Como, and take an optional funicular to Brunate for wonderful views into Switzerland and across Lake Como. Late afternoon we travel to Milan. (Breakfast)
23 September 2016 - Milan to Johannesburg
A full free day for some last minute shopping or site seeing before we depart back to Johannesburg on a late evening flight. A whole day free to spend in Milan. Regarded as one of the fashion capitals of the world, it is home to the headquarters of many of the most famous Italian fashion brands like Armani, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana and many more. The art lovers can make their way to the Last Supper. (Breakfast, Dinner on board flight)
24 September 2016 - Johannesburg
We arrive back in Johannesburg with a scheduled arrival time of 16:25 PM. Say good bye to new friends made, and take our pictures and a lifetime of memories with us back home. (Breakfast on board flight)
